founding growth at mimic

at mimic, a $15m ai creative data company, we're changing how social media content gets made through ai creative data and ai ugc.

every video on your feed is the end of a chain of decisions: the brief, the hook, the scripts that got cut, the edit, when and where it posted. platforms only see the finished post. mimic captures the whole chain, ties every decision to how the video performed, and trains its own models on it. real creators find what works, ai creators scale it, and every video teaches the next one. the goal is zero friction between an idea and a creative that performs.

i run growth for two of mimic's internal companies: kori (@learnkori), a korean language app, where our hybrid ai ugc campaign hit $360k arr in 1 month, and take ai (@usetake.ai), an ai video editor. kuma (@kumasupps), a protein gummy brand, is another mimic company.

i also build in public on @danielxkwon, with 30k+ followers across platforms following along with what i'm building, the values i run on, and the story of leaving an abusive home and building my own path from there.

how i got here

i grew up in philadelphia and started my first media business in 6th grade, shooting sports photography and making films. in 8th grade i gained traction online through tiktok and pinterest, posting fashion and personal style content.

in high school i covered the protests against the 76ers arena in chinatown for no arena in chinatown solidarity (nacs) and filmed documentaries in my free time. i also started a hygiene drive that turned into plover international, a youth-led nonprofit sponsored by upenn, the ymca, and chipotle. it's grown to 350+ chapters across five continents and delivered thousands of hygiene kits.

senior year i started editing at life mp under dan kim for fred liu and justin han, then sebastian tan, ben aratame, and colleen yu, including her brand campaigns for adobe. editing turned into directing, and directing turned into creative director for scott ho, where i led the launch of bling empire, his business mastermind and mentorship program. we had a $230k launch month.

after that i started over dunes, building premium personal brands behind creator ceos, and got pulled into vc-backed startups building ugc programs and creator systems. in september 2026 i shut down over dunes to go all in on mimic.
